Only
8 nautical mile from land is the jewel of Port Douglas. This
marine and national park is visited only during the day by a limited number
of commercial tourist boats. The
beach provides waist deep water for the not so aquatic to start at their
own speed with their feet on solid ground. The
variety of fish and coral is astounding. During
the winter trade winds from the south east, the lagoons shelter is the
ultimate break water and the envy of the Port Douglas reef visiters.
